Deoxyguanosine triphosphate (dGTP) is one of four building blocks of nucleic acid DNA . It consists of a deoxyribose , the base guanine and a triphosphate group.
biosynthesis
The deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates are synthesized in the cell as high-energy compounds from 2'-deoxyribonucleotide-5'-monophosphate, through two successive phosphorylation steps with ATP as a phosphate group donor.
function
dGTP is one of four building blocks of DNA . The genetic code of DNA results from the sequence of the bases of these building blocks. Since the base of dGTP is guanosine , this building block encodes the G of this code.
