Detlef Beiersdorf

Detlef Beiersdorf (born June 6, 1952 ) is a former German football player who was active in the 1970s for 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig and BSG Chemie Leipzig in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football .

Athletic career

As a junior player , Detlef Beiersdorf appeared for the first time in the junior top division season 1968/69. There he played as a defender for 1. FC Lok Leipzig. In the supraregional men's area, Beiersdorf appeared for the first time in the 1973/74 season with the 2nd team of 1. FC Lok in the second-rate GDR league . He was used in eleven league games in the first half of the season, in which he was called up as a defender and in midfield. 1974/75 Beiersdorf was still a defender at 1. FC Lok II, but was able to establish himself as a regular player with 18 appearances in 22 league games and two goals. In this season he also came to his only league assignment at Lok Leipzig. On the 11th day of the match between FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt and 1. FC Lok (4: 1) he was substituted on for the injured striker Henning Frenzel in the 72nd minute . Detlef Beiersdorf then moved to Leipzig's local rival, the company sports association (BSG) Chemie Leipzig. There he played 1975/76 but in the 2nd team mainly in the district league . He was only used twice in the major league. The only league goal he scored in his first season. In his last season in 1980/81 with the BSG Aktivist, he made 19 appearances at the age of 28, but only as a substitute at the end of the season.

After nine seasons in the GDR league and major league, Detlef Beiersdorf ended his career in the higher leagues. As a recreational footballer, he joined the third-rate district league team Motor Leipzig-Lindenau.
