Detlef Eckert (born June 5, 1951 in Halberstadt ) is a German politician of the party Die Linke and a former member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1969 and training as an ornamental plant gardener , Eckert became a qualified teacher in 1974 . A 1982 began postgraduate he graduated in 1986 with the promotion of Dr. phil. on the subject of “The SED's policy to implement scientific and technical progress in the five-year planning period 1966 to 1970”.

From 1973 to 1980 he worked as a teacher at a general education school, from 1980 to 1982 as a teacher at an SED district party school. From 1982 to 1991 he was employed at the Academy for Social Science , from 1991 to 1998 as a research assistant and representative for disability policy of the PDS Bundestag group .

He is married and has three children

Politics / party

Eckert joined the SED in 1977 and after the German reunification in 1990 changed to the PDS (today "Die Linke"). Within his party Die Linke he is a member of the disability policy and sport working groups. From 1999 to 2007 he was a member of the district assembly in the Halberstadt district and from 2007 to 2010 a member of the district assembly in the Harz district . Since the local elections in June 2009, he has been a member of the city council of the district town of Halberstadt .

He has been a member of the State Constitutional Court of Saxony-Anhalt since 2015 .

MP

From 1998 ( 3rd electoral period ) to 2011 Eckert was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. He represented his group in the Social Affairs Committee .
