The Dettenbach (Tettenbach) is an almost 15 km long tributary of the long left oxbow river Alte Donau of the Danube between the Franconian Alb and the Hallertau in Bavaria .

The Dettenbach rises in the Eichstätt district west of Oberoffendorf. It passes under the state road 2231 and runs through the towns of Offendorf, Mindelstetten and Lobsing . From there it flows through a deeply cut valley and crosses the border to the Kelheim district . At Marching the Dettenbach flows into an oxbow lake of the Danube , which is called like many of this Old Danube and only flows into it after Irnsing .
