The German-Russian Chamber of Commerce Abroad ( Russian Российско-Германская Внешнеторговая палата / Rossijsko-Germanskaja vneschnetorgowaja palata; short: AHK Russia) in Moscow is part of the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad . On behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany, she represents the German economy with the aim of promoting foreign trade in trade between Russia and Germany .

The Chamber has a branch in St. Petersburg and has six other voluntary regional representatives. The AHK Russia represents around 900 German, Russian and international member companies.

history

The AHK Russia was founded on December 5, 2007, under the direction of Dr. Andrea von Knoop, through a restructuring of the Association of German Business in the Russian Federation , which was founded in 1995. Like its predecessor organization, the Chamber pursues the goal of giving the local German economy a central voice and promoting cooperation with Russian partners in the interests of both parties (motto: impulse, lobby, service). Since March 2012, Dr. Rainer Seele President of the German-Russian AHK, and CEO since April 1, 2016 is Matthias Schepp.

DEinternational is the service brand of all chambers of commerce abroad and offers commercial services under the umbrella of the chambers of commerce abroad. In the Russian Federation, DEinternational, as a subsidiary of the AHK, is a legal entity.

Publications

The chamber regularly publishes publications on current economic issues. The quarterly magazine Impuls with current market information and member news is supplemented by various publications such as the magazine 100 Questions and Answers on Business in Russia , the Annual Report and Russia in Figures . There is also a so-called morning telegram twice a week for the members of the Chamber , which contains all current and important topics and reports of the day.

Sochi Desk

In September 2008, the “Sochi Desk” was set up with funding from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology , which intensified information activities relating to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and supported German companies with targeted information and contacts on projects in Sochi and the Krasnodar region . It was run by the Chamber.

Otto Wolff von Amerongen SME Prize

Since 2009, the AHK-Russia awards together with the Otto Wolff Foundation to Otto Wolff von Amerongen SME Award . The award is given for outstanding performance in three categories: to German medium-sized companies in Russia, Russian medium-sized companies in Germany and innovative companies in both markets. The award is the only award in the German-Russian economic context. In addition to the entrepreneurial activities, he also recognizes the pioneering achievements in the respective target market and focuses on the high innovative strength of the companies.
