criticism

Before the final, critical voices were raised about the personnel policies of the two finalists. Hohenstein-Ernstthal would have played with nine Ukrainian national players, Regensburg with seven or eight Brazilians . The player-coach of FC Fortis Hamburg Ali Yasar said that the Ukrainian players had only arrived in Hohenstein-Ernstthal an hour before the start of the game and that no player could speak just one word of German. The German national goalkeeper spent the whole game on the bench. Yasar spoke of dubious events. His club, however, decided not to protest because all players had a permit.
