The International German Open Water Swimming Championships took place from June 28th to 30th, 2013 in Duisburg on the Duisburg-Wedau regatta course . The competition also serves to qualify for the World Open Water Swimming Championships from July 19 to 27, 2013 in Barcelona .

Electronic timing using a transponder should be used on one or both arms. Because of the low temperatures, the women’s competition was shortened from 25 km to 15 km.
