German table tennis championship 1932

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 2nd national German table tennis championship - at that time still called the Federal Games - took place on March 25th and 26th, 1932 (Good Friday and Holy Saturday) in Dresden . The playhouse was the Königshof restaurant in Dresden-Strehlen. All previous year's winners defended their titles, namely Nikita Madjaroglou in the men's singles and Astrid Krebsbach in the women. Double and mixed competitions were not held this time, but championships for men's and women's district teams.

Team competitions

District teams fought for the national German championship here. This should not be confused with the championships for club teams, the first of which took place in 1932/33. DTTB President Werner Arndt donated a challenge cup for both the winner of the men's and women's district team .

District men's teams

Eight districts reported a team of three players. These were split into two groups, where everyone competed against everyone else. The districts of Munich and Hanover were not represented.

In the final, Dresden beat Berlin 5: 3.

District women's teams

Only four district teams came to the women:

At the end of the group games, Berlin and Dresden were tied. Berlin won the playoff 3-0.

Remarks

In the reports of that time, first names were mostly not mentioned, but the origin was often given. In addition, it was important to indicate the marital status of women. So one strictly distinguished Miss Mustermann from Ms. Mustermann . For this reason, the first names are often missing in the above lists, and today they can hardly be determined, especially for lesser-known active people.
