External perception

The Federal Foreign Office promotes university partnerships worldwide and cites the "German University in Cairo" as the first example. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research sees the GUC primarily in the continuity of German-Egyptian educational cooperation: “The first 'German' private university abroad (formally it is a private institution under Egyptian law with a German name) is of great political importance in the long-standing and traditional educational cooperation on the Spree and Nile, which began over a hundred years ago with the German denominational schools in Cairo and Alexandria. "

On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, the German Academic Exchange Service honors the GUC as an “extraordinary example” of transnational education and as one of “the largest and most renowned universities in the region”. The GUC stands “for transnational education 'Made in Germany', which has successfully established an independent, partnership-based approach around the world from which both sides benefit.” The Information Service Wissenschaft IDW reports: “Today, the GUC is seen as a model and the largest outside of Egypt University project that was implemented with German participation.
