Congress content

Science and research, politics and society as well as continuing education and training are the three pillars of the DKOU. Courses, seminars, abstract presentations and expert panels are available to participants for this purpose. Approximately 1,800 lectures will be presented in around 250 sessions over four days. These are complemented by the presentation of over 200 scientific posters .

Doctors can earn continuing education credits as part of Continuing Medical Education (CME). Some of the lectures will be broadcast live on the internet. All abstracts are published by German Medical Science.

The interdisciplinary exchange with representatives of the nursing professions, emergency services, physiotherapy and orthopedic technology takes place in joint meetings.

The sections, working groups and working groups of the three participating specialist societies also receive a large forum on the specialty day at the DKOU for the presentation and discussion of their activities.

The congress offers a special program for students. On “Student Day”, the next generation of doctors should be interested in the subject orthopedics and trauma surgery and the joy of the subject should be conveyed. The travel grant covers travel and accommodation costs. The Young Forum of the DGOU not only organizes the student day, but is also actively involved in the entire congress to promote the next generation.

In addition to numerous workshops and symposia, the satellite program also includes a patient day, which is organized by the German Rheuma League on important topics that change every year for those affected.

Around 250 companies present news from medical technology, orthopedic technology, pharmaceuticals and services in a roughly 6000 m² exhibition. The congress is rounded off by a wide range of contact options at evening events and a diverse range of cultural activities for family members.
