German Wine Culture Award
The German Wine Culture Prize was founded in 1954 at the suggestion of numerous writers and artists to recognize merits in the field of wine culture. At the time, the idea was supported by the wine-growing federal states ; it was in charge of the viticulture in Rhineland-Palatinate responsible viticulture Minister Oskar Stübinger . In the foundation resolution it was determined that the German Wine Culture Prize should be awarded for
- the exemplary and direct design of works of art of all kinds that are suitable for praising German wine as a cultural asset and a source of joy and health, or for
- the simple and convincing presentation and interpretation of wine cultural works of art to the broadest possible group of interested parties.
With the decision of the foundation in 1954, a committee was set up to submit proposals for potential award winners to the management and the supervisory board of the German Wine Institute .
