Dhirajlal Bhulabhai Desai

Dhirajlal Bhulabhai Desai ( Hindi धीरजलाल भूलाभाई देसाई ; born June 22, 1908 in Bombay ; † March 21, 1951 in Bern ) was an Indian diplomat . He was the first Indian ambassador to Switzerland.

Life

Dhirajlal Bhulabhai Desai was the son of the politician Bhulabhai Jivanji Desai . He attended Elphinstone College , Bharda New High School, and Government Law College in Bombay. Desai was a barrister at the Supreme Court of India and Chairman of the Indian National Congress in the Bombay Presidency . He was a director of Ameer Trading Corporation, the Indian subsidiary of American Cyanamid's Calco Chemical Company .

From December 17, 1948 he was envoy in Bern and also accredited to the Holy See and to the Allied Commission for Austria in Vienna .
