General
The entire 12,141 hectare area belongs to the Diablo Grande Resort Community , a ranch with an attached golf club. There is currently only one winery within the area , the Isom Ranch Winery . The vineyards of the protected designation of origin are at an altitude of 300 to 550 m above sea level. NN . The altitude favors slightly higher amounts of precipitation and lower temperatures than is possible in the vicinity. This means that a wide range of early and late ripening grape varieties can be grown.
The wine-growing region is named after Mount Diablo , the highest point in the region.
