action

After being released from prison, where he spent 6 months for stealing a car, the young Floyd Gambino and the older Joe raid a jeweler. The coup succeeds, but a policeman dies in the process. On the run, the two split up and agree to a meeting point on the Canadian border.

Because of a minor accident, Floyd, who is carrying the loot worth half a million, has to take a room in a motel. Its owner Fred Norton and his wife Michelle discover the true identity of their guest and prevent their discovery. After a night of love with Michelle, the diamonds are gone and cannot be found. Meanwhile, Joe also makes his way to the motel because he suspects treason. Floyd and Michelle leave the motel separately; while leaving in a car, Michelle takes the bus.

Joe starts chasing the bus and kills Michelle, but cannot find the gems on her. Then he goes on a search with Floyd, who in turn kills him. Meanwhile, Michelle's niece celebrates the perfect crime with her fiancé in the motel. But Floyd now knows what was being played and puts an end to the happiness.

criticism

The "dark mixture of thriller and melodrama" was received with restraint. “An action film mixed with Giallo elements, which is superbly staged, but which lacks credibility and, above all, the comprehensible psychology of its characters, which is hardly convincing. The neglect of the law and moral values is remarkable. Since the focus is otherwise only on violence and sex, the overall impression is negative ”, so the review on Segnalazioni Cinematografiche . On the other hand, Karsten Thurau saw a "well-staged film that contains some abysses" and sums it up: "good, but without the typically Italian touch."
