Diamond Rio is a Nashville- based American country music band and a Grammy Award winner.
Career
In the mid-1980s, six musicians came together in Nashville who came from different parts of the USA and had many years of experience in the music business. As The Tennessee River Boys , the sextet played the most popular hits in country music at the Opryland amusement park . It took almost seven years to get a record deal. Under the name Diamond Rio signed the band in 1990 with Arista Records ; the band name is made up of the truck companies "Diamond T" and "REO".
In 1991 the album Diamond Rio was recorded. The single Meet in the Middle reached the top position on the country charts. More singles made it into the top 10. The album itself was gilded. Never before has a country band made a more successful debut. There have been several awards and nominations.
Her next album, Close To The Edge , was released in 1992. Again some successful singles were released. Diamond Rio were named CMA Group of the Year. Her streak of success continued over the next few years. Every album reached gold or platinum status , almost every single made it into the top 10. The last number 1 hits so far were It's A Mess and I Believe in 2002 . The band has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1998 .
Their success is due in large part to their musical versatility. The individual band members merged their experiences that they had gained in genres such as rock , jazz or country.
Her last studio album so far, I Made It , was released in 2015.
