Richard R. "Dickie" Boon (born January 10, 1878 in Belleville , Ontario , † May 3, 1961 in Outremont , Québec ) was a Canadian ice hockey player who worked for the Montreal AAA from the Canadian Amateur Hockey League at the beginning of the 20th century and the Montreal Wanderers from the Federal Amateur Hockey League played.
Career
While at the Montreal AAA, the forward won the AAA's only two Stanley Cups . The team was also the last amateur club to win the cup.
After joining the AAA, Boon co-founded Montreal Wanderers , the city's first professional ice hockey franchise . He led the Wanderers as manager in 1907, 1908 and 1910 to three victories in the Stanley Cup.
After his hockey days, Dickie Boon co-founded the Boon-Strachan Coal and devoted himself primarily to the sports of curling and golf . In 1952 he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame .
