While Bernie is getting some dogs ready for Underwood Scientific to be taken away at Puppy Town Kennell , a small dog escapes him into the night. Some time later this dog has to escape the adolescent Waterstreetgang and escapes into a cinema, where he meets four friends Clint, Jason, Wendell and Clarence, who stand by him against the Waterstreetgang. Jason then takes him home, where he hides him in the basement from his parents. After Kristi became the first girl to join her circle of friends, the friends discover that her dog has been kidnapped. Of course they start a major search, but only after they find a beaten up Wendell do they learn that the Waterstreet gang not only beat him up, but also hunted stray dogs for money for the local animal shelter.
You go to the animal shelter and find the Kennel Master not only a bad boss, but also your dog in one of the kennels. Since the Kennel Master does not want to release him, Jason tries to free him with the help of his father. But the Kennel Master lies to him and tells that the dog on Monday euthanized is. So the four boys and Kristi plan to free the dog on Saturday night. To do this, they prepare by doing sports, scouting the shelter, and asking for help from old war hero James Turner, known as Hermit . This gives them advice on how to behave.
And so they approach the animal shelter, all dressed up, Saturday evening and are immediately overwhelmed and captured by the water street gang. However, thanks to Clarence's toy helicopter, they can break free again. They even turn the tables, because they are being chased by a vicious watchdog in the junkyard, and Clint manages to get it to attack the Waterstreetgang rather than his friends. With the help of photos that you hang in front of the surveillance cameras, you can then walk around the area of the animal shelter looking for your dog. They find him and are horrified to discover that the Kennel Master had up to 15 dogs a week to be sold for scientific research. Of course, he now wants to prevent the friends from telling this, which is why he wants to take them prisoner. But they escape, and with the help of Clint's father, the Kennel Master is later arrested. James Turner has even better news because the dog is his old bitch Mildred, whom he has known for months, and is pregnant. Each of the friends will receive their own puppy at the end of the adventure.
