Nancy Parsons

Nancy Anne Parsons (born January 17, 1942 in Saint Paul , Minnesota , † January 5, 2001 in La Crosse , Wisconsin ) was an American film and stage actress .

Life

Nancy Parsons was born the youngest of three sisters to Charles and Mary Parson. Her parents divorced early , and in 1959, when Nancy was 17 years old, her father remarried. The three girls moved to South Pasadena, California, with their stepmother Genevieve Stack .

Here Nancy performed on various stages and soon afterwards began to develop an interest in acting . She received a scholarship for the famous Pasadena Playhouse , which she attended from 1960 to 1962. During these two years she appeared in various theater productions by well-known writers , including plays by Edward Albee , Clifford Odets , Charles Williams, Anton Chekhov and William Shakespeare .

After graduation, Parsons married Alan Hipwell in January 1963. The marriage resulted in two daughters, Elizabeth (born November 3, 1964) and Margaret (born October 7, 1969). During the marriage, Parsons was a housewife and mother. It wasn't until they divorced in April 1972 that she returned to acting. She enrolled at UCLA , graduated from theater, and made her film debut in 1976 on an episode of the television series " Baretta ".

Parsons died of diabetes in January 2001 .

She was nominated for the Saturn Award in 1981 for her portrayal in Hotel zur Hölle ( Motel Hell ) .
