The Santa Clause Files (Original title: The Santa Incident ) is an American comedy film directed by Yelena Lanskaya from 2010. The film was produced by Hallmark Entertainment for the Hallmark Channel Original Movies series.

action

Five days before Christmas, a supposed UFO is shot down by a US fighter plane . But this was Santa Claus on his sleigh, who now falls to earth and is found here by ten-year-old Daniel and his sister Sophia. Although he is not wearing a red coat, but a light overall, little Sophia knows immediately who it is. While Santa Claus is in the hospital, Homeland Security is already looking for the "extraterrestrial". For the agent Erickson it is clear that he has just gone to earth in the form of Santa Claus in order to set up an interterrestrial network. However, he is surprised not to find any debris from the downed spaceship. Together with his colleague Cunningham, he monitors the stranded Nick in the hope of being able to prevent what he believes is an impending invasion.

After Nick is released from the hospital, Daniel and Sophia bring him to their home in the garage. Her mother Joanna thinks the old man is a homeless person and is willing to tolerate the helpfulness of her children just before Christmas, after all, the old man is very friendly and helpful. Nick helps people all over town and only gets paid for his work with old things and even waste products. He uses them to make toys for children at night, because since he lost his loaded sledge, he would otherwise have no presents for Christmas. Daniel and Sophia are thrilled when they see the many things and want to help Nick.

Since Santa Claus has not returned to the North Pole, three elves are looking for their boss. But the pilot of the fighter plane that shot down the Christmas sleigh tries to find Santa. He wants to make up for his mistake and joins the elves. While Joanna and Agent Cunningham are now also convinced that Nick has only good things in mind, Agent Erickson firmly believes that this is all just cover. He arrests Nick, who is soon freed by the elves. They are amazed when they see the large number of toys that Nick has made. This should save Christmas, and Nick calls his eight reindeer, who show up immediately to set off under Nick's guidance to deliver the “goods”.

Nick has a very special present for Daniel and Sophie because they both miss a father. After Joanna left years ago, she was there for her children all by herself. Although her old friend Hank had always looked after her, she had never been open to a relationship with him. Her concern for Santa Claus has changed her attitude, and like a family the four now celebrate Christmas together.
