Yelena Lanskaya

Yelena Lanskaya (born March 24, 1968 ) is an American film director , producer and film editor . Lanskaya is an active member of the Directors Guild of America , the Motion Picture Editors Guild, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, an organization dedicated to promoting the television industry in the United States.

biography

Yelena Lanskaya studied film at the AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles , which is part of the American Film Institute . During her training, she won a highly regarded scholarship program for a women's directing workshop at the American Film Institute. While studying in Russia, Lanskaya graduated from Academic Music College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in performance and piano. During this time Lanskaya performed in a chamber orchestra and toured with a rock band. At the same time she also worked as a media journalist.

Lanskaya has made films such as The Colt (2005), which thematizes the American Civil War and is based on a story by Michail Scholochow (2006), Hidden Places based on a template by Lynn Austin , the Syfy film Hybrid (2007), and the psychological thriller Primal Doubt (2007) and the Christmas film The Santa Claus Files (2010). The films directed by Lanskaya have won numerous awards at film festivals and in America. In addition to other prizes , Hidden Places received the Camie Award 2007. Renowned critics praised their films in the New York Times, among others . They believed their film The Colt was one of the best films about the American Civil War. Two of her films are among the most watched TV shows in Hallmark Channel history . Her films are shown in numerous countries in various languages. Lanskaya works with Columbia TriStar, Sony Pictures Entertainment , ABC , CBS , NBC , TNT , Warner Bros. Pictures and Lifetime Television , among others , and is an advocate for independent films .

On the musical First Love: It's The Music! Lanskaya worked as a co-producer and editor. Yelena Lanskaya's center of life is Los Angeles.
