action

In a small town in Normandy , the pretty Mina, her husband, the crude craftsman Georges, and their fifteen-year-old son Tommy led a boring life in the sixties. One day Georges becomes unemployed but gets a job building a large bridge. He is not at home during the week and only comes home on weekends. Mina consoles herself with going to the cinema. She watches the films Jules and Jim and West Side Story and gets to know and love the young engineer Matthias. He is, of all people, the head of bridge construction. So a melodramatic triangle story develops .

Reviews

"A melodramatic triangular story developed conventionally according to a classic pattern, which matches the ambience of time and place as well as the cinematic reminiscences and comes up with convincing actors."
