Shortly before Christmas, the Neuendorff family packs their bags for their family vacation together in Thailand . They reciprocally give each other travel guides and are already looking forward to their long-distance trip, when Susanne Neuendorff's mother, who needs care, is at the door. She has no choice but to take her 72-year-old mother Anneliese Behrens, who used to be an opera singer, to Thailand with all her exhausting divas. Susanne books a senior citizen's place in a Thai nursing home for her mother. But her mother thwarts her plans and turns her daughter's family life upside down. She allows her granddaughter to attend a party in Thailand without her parents' knowledge and consent.
