The Only One is a Swiss television film and the first work by Swiss director Maria Sigrist from 2017. The comedy was produced by Tilt Production in coproduction with Swiss radio and television SRF .

On his way from Milan back to Frankfurt , the ambitious management consultant Jan Keplitz wants to make a brief, mandatory stop in Muotathal in order to deal with the inheritance of his unknown father as quickly as possible. But after a near accident with the silent Gothic girl Tonja Imhof, the encounter with the bizarre regulars of the place and a tangible argument with the gruff village police officer Gwerder, it quickly becomes clear that he cannot get out of this world, which is so different to him .
The Only One is a film about "being abandoned" - be it by a father, a wife or the death of a loved one. And it is about how you can overcome this loss and find your way back to life with the "others".

The film was shot in Muotathal , Switzerland in 23 days. The last drop fell on July 7, 2017. Post-production took place in Zurich in the following months . The film was completed in November 2017 and was on December 6, 2017 cinema cosmos premiere . The first broadcast took place on December 13, 2017 at 20.10 on SRF Zwei . The 90-minute film is also available on DVD from the SRF Shop .
The main male role was played by the German actor Johannes Franke , all other roles were cast by Swiss actors, some supporting roles even with amateur actors from the Muotathal .
