IC 1387 is an elliptical galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type E in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 257 million light years from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7069 , IC 1381 , IC 1384 , IC 1385 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 6, 1891 .
