IC 1379 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E0 in the constellation fill north of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 576 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1380 and IC 5111 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on July 29, 1892 .
