IC 1383 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 403 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies IC 1381 , IC 1384 , IC 1385 , IC 1387 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on November 6, 1891 .
