history

The DFK goes back to the establishment of professional associations after the First World War . Political unrest and violent disputes in the factories led to the creation of their own management organizations in the post-war period. On December 22nd, 1918 the Vela , the association of executives in trade and industry, was founded. On March 30, 1919, the VoB , the Association of Oberer Bergbeamten e. V. In the time of National Socialism, the associations were dissolved in 1933 and their assets were transferred to the German labor front. After the Second World War , the associations revived.

In addition, new foundations took place, for example in the steel sector with the VOE and later VFE, in the metal and electrical industry (VFME) and in the construction industry (FdBau). In several merger steps - the last one in 2003 - all these associations, with the exception of the chemists, merged to form the current association "The Executives e.V." together. This happened against the background of more efficient lobbying .

Structure and organization

The association's business is carried out by full-time employees in the offices in Essen , Hamburg , Berlin , Frankfurt (Main) and Stuttgart . The 21 regional groups organize lecture and networking events, training courses and seminars as well as excursions for the members.
