The children of Golzow
Die Kinder von Golzow is a long-term film documentary about the students in a school class from Golzow in the Brandenburg region of Oderbruch .
description
In 20 films, Barbara Junge and Winfried Junge accompanied the lives of 18 people born between 1953 and 1955 from 1961 to 2007. More than 70 kilometers and around 45 hours of film material were produced. The longest documentary in film history ended with the two parts And if they haven't died ... and ... then they are still alive today .
The films not only shed light on the individual life stories of the protagonists, but also give a deep insight into the history of the GDR and its unification with the Federal Republic of Germany as well as into the aesthetics and aspirations of the DEFA documentary film.
The idea for this project came from Karl Gass . In 1985 the result went CVs in the "GUINNESS film, Fact & Feats" as a film with the longest production time of film history. After the end of the GDR and with it DEFA, Winfried Junge continued the Golzow project in co-production with broadcasters of the ARD , especially the RBB ; "a jour Film- und Fernsehproduktions GmbH" has been producing its films since then, and Progress Film-Verleih evaluates Die Kinder von Golzow in the cinema and at festivals.
The primary school in Golzow was renamed "Primary School Children of Golzow" in July 2008 based on the television production that started there .
The film documentation collective received the National Prize of the GDR III in 1981 . Art and literature class
