A young woman with romantic ideas refuses the marriage that her parents want to arrange for her and instead dreams of marrying a robber. The parents then look for a young man who is supposed to play a robber in order to keep their daughter from her plans. The girl promptly falls in love with the young man.

It was produced by Messter Film in Woltersdorf (near Berlin) and distributed by Hansa Film. The film was subject to the censorship test in September 1919; the premiere took place on September 29, 1916.
