Hitsugi no Chaika ( Japanese 棺 姫 の チ ャ イ カ , Eng . " Coffin Princess Chaika") is a light novel series by Ichirō Sakaki with illustrations by Namaniku ATK . This is also in three manga series, some of which appear as Die Sargprinzessin also in German, and adapted as an anime series.

action

A few years ago, a great war ended in which the Gaz ( ガ ズ帝国 , Gazu teikoku ) empire fell and its ruler Artur Gaz ( ア ル ト ゥ ー ル ・ ガ ズ , Arutūru Gazu ) , a powerful 500-year-old magician, was defeated by eight heroes.

One day the now unemployed mercenary (here Saboteur (乱 破 師サ バ タ ー, Sabatā ) ) Tōru Acura ( ト ー ル ・ ア キ ュ ラ , Tōru Akyura ) in the forest on a young girl who introduces herself to him in broken language as Chaika Trabant ( チ ャ イ カ ・ ト ラ バ ン ト , Chaika Torabanto ) . Shortly afterwards, they are attacked by a unicorn - a man-eating, extremely dangerous animal. Chaika informs him that she is a sorceress (here Wizard (魔法師ウ ィ ザ ー ド, Wizādo ) ) and can defeat this, but he must buy her the necessary time. Your magic works through a gundo (機 杖ガ ン ド, Gando ) , a kind of sniper rifle, the individual parts of which she carries around in a coffin.

After the unicorn is defeated, he accompanies her to her destination, where she hires him and his sister Akari ( ア カ リ ・ ア キ ュ ラ , Akari Akyura ) to steal an item from the estate of the local feudal lord and one of the heroes, Robert Avart. It turns out that this is the hand of Artur Gaz that gives one great power, and each of the heroes took a part of their body with them. But Avart is also astonished to see Chaika, as he killed her himself during the fight against Gaz.

When they leave the property, they are met by Alveric Gilette ( ア ル ベ リ ッ ク ・ ジ レ ッ ト , Aruberikku Jiretto ) and his group. This belongs to the Kliemann organization ( ク リ ー マ ン 機関 , Kurīman kikan ) , which is committed to post-war reconstruction. He informs Tōru that Chaika is the daughter of Gaz and that her mission to collect the body parts of her father would only boost the supporters of Gaz and lead again to war. Tōru replies that this is fine with him, since a war would give him a purpose in life as a mercenary, and flees.

Chaika, in turn, hires him and Akari permanently to accompany them on their journey, which consists of collecting the body parts of their father in order to give him a dignified burial.

The first and so far only anthology was published on March 26, 2013 ( ISBN 978-4-04-120651-5 ).

The third series Gakuen Chaika! ( 学園 チ ャ イ カ! ) Reinterprets the plot as a school comedy. This is drawn by Seri Minase and appeared in the online magazine Age Premium from issue 2/2014 (January 9, 2014) to 1/2015 (December 11, 2015), of which the first volume was published in June 2014.
