Die Streuner are a medieval band from Bonn that has existed since 1994 and performs at medieval markets, castle festivals and knight games .

style

The quintet mainly plays medieval tavern music . Among other things, they are regularly represented at the Festival Medieval Fantasy Spectaculum and the Kaltenberg knight tournament . The repertoire extends from songs from six centuries on medieval Sauf- and Rauf music , old folk songs, drinking and Pfaff songs to original compositions. The lyrics of their songs are mainly German, some pieces are in French or English. Text templates come from some famous authors, u. a. by Friedrich Schiller , François Villon , Erich Kästner , Fritz Graßhoff , Heinrich Heine , Clemens Brentano or Wilhelm Busch . The arrangement mostly comes from the strays themselves, when they add music to texts that do not spring from their pen.

For the first time Miriam Petzold and Roland Kempen performed together under the name Die Streuner in 1994 at Satzvey Castle . Then Martin Seifert, later Carsten Hickstein and finally Matthew Rouse completed the group to form a quintet.

All records were released on the Emmuty Records label. The producer is Roland Kempen. Since 2009 the strays have an official fan club, the Wild Journeyman . Since the end of 2018, the strays have had another official fan club, the Krugschwenker.
