action
The small town of Ramsfield in Yorkshire around 1860: In just three generations, the Crowther family grew the smallest local weaving mill into one of the city's most prosperous businesses. But Manchester-style capitalism ultimately shows its ugly grimace. Greed and megalomania drive the family business to the brink of ruin. Everyone's existence is at stake.
The brothers Zebediah and Joshua Crowther, two completely opposite characters, are now fighting with their father for the supremacy of the ultra-conservative company in the Victorian era after the decline of the once prosperous company . Each of the two so different brothers struggles for absolute power, tries to take control of the family and the legacy of the Bankdam weaving mill. The war is dogged and waged by all means. When Joshua finally dies in an accident in the factory, Zebediah, who is terminally ill himself, does not entrust the inheritance of Bankdam to his own son, but to Joshua's son Simeon, who he firmly believes, as the new lord of Bankdam, has restored the family business to its former glory will lead.
