Diego Rodríguez , full name Diego Martín Rodríguez Telechea , (born January 8, 1991 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

Depending on the club's information, 1.86 meters or 1.88 meters tall defensive player Diego Rodríguez belonged to the squad of the first division Montevideo Wanderers at least in the Apertura 2009 and the Clausura 2010 . He completed two top division games that season (no goal).

This was followed by a position in the Apertura 2010 at Tacuarembó FC . In the 2011 Clausura he played again for the Wanderers and ran the Montevideans three times (no goal) in the Primera División in the 2010/11 season . In July 2011 he joined Málaga FC . There he was in the squad of Atlético Malagueño , the club's B team, in the 2011/12 season . 19 games and two goals were recorded for him in the Tercera División that season. In the 2012/13 season he was set up 23 times for the B-Team and scored three times in the opposing goal. In 2012/13 he apparently also belonged to the team of FC Málaga, but did not get into the Spanish Primera División .

In early January 2014 he returned to Uruguay and joined the first division club Juventud , for whom he played twelve times in the league and scored one goal in the rest of the 2013/14 season. In the Apertura 2014 he was used eight times (no goal) in the top Uruguayan league.

In mid-January 2015 he moved to Canada on loan to the Vancouver Whitecaps . There he was four times (no goal) in the MLS, four times (no goal) in the CONCACAF Champions Cup , once (no goal) in the Canadian Championship , which his club won that year, and seven times (no goal) in the second team used in the USL. In the second half of January 2016, he joined the Uruguayan first division club Atlético Cerro . In the 2016 Clausura, he played nine first division games (no goal) with the Montevideans. At the beginning of August 2016 he moved to Universitario de Deportes in Peru . There he was used in seven first division games (no goal) and one encounter (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana 2016 . In January 2017 he returned to Juventud for another engagement. So far (as of March 4, 2017) he has scored a goal in four first division appearances at the club from Las Piedras .

National team

Rodríguez was part of the Uruguayan U-20 selection . According to his ex-club Málaga FC, he is said to have played in two international friendly matches in the 2010/11 season, as well as in one international match of the Copa Aerosur and the Copa Ciudad Maldonado . He did not score a goal, but received two red cards .
