Diego Emilio Romero Paschetta (born December 5, 1974 in Córdoba ) is a former Argentine - Italian sailor .
successes
Diego Romero took part in the Laser boat class three times in the Olympic Games . In 2000 he finished 23rd in Sydney , four years later he was twelfth in Athens . In 1999 he won the bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg , and in 2003 he won the silver medal in Santo Domingo . Before the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , he moved to the Italian Association, for which he also started at the Games. With 75 points, he took bronze behind Paul Goodison and Vasilij Žbogar . At World Championships in 2005, already under the Italian flag, he came second in Fortaleza .
For his Olympic success he received the Officer's Cross of the Italian Order of Merit in September 2008 .
