Paul Martin Goodison , MBE (born November 29, 1977 in Sheffield ) is a former British sailor .

successes

Paul Goodison took part in the Laser Boat Class three times in the Olympic Games . At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , with 81 points, he just missed winning a medal in fourth place. Four years later he finished the regatta in Beijing with 63 points in first place and was Olympic champion ahead of Vasilij Žbogar and Diego Romero . In 2012 he finished seventh in London . At World Championships he won the bronze medal in Hyannis in 2002 , before winning the title in Halifax in 2009 . From 2005 to 2009 he was European champion five times in a row.

For his Olympic success, Goodison was made a member of the Order of the British Empire at the end of 2008 .
