Namibian Police Ranks

The Namibian police forces of the Namibian Police Force using the following ranks, but not with the independent Windhoek City Police apply. The ranks were introduced on January 1, 2011 and those that had been valid up to that point no longer apply.

Originally between Commissioner officers (was English Commissioned Officers ) and NCOs ( Non-Commissioned Officers ) distinguished. Since 2011, between General assistants ( General Staff ), Senior Commissioner officers ( Senior Commissioned Officers ), Junior Commissioner officers ( Junior Commissioned Officer ) and non-officers ( non-officers ) are differentiated.

The ranks can be recognized by the police hats and epaulets or badges .

High ranks

The highest ranks in the Namibian police are held by the “general staff”, followed by the “senior commissioner officers”. These two groups of ranks fell under the "Commissioner Officers" until 2011.

Lower ranks

The lower ranks in the Namibian police are held by the “junior commissioner officers” and the “non-officers”. These two groups of ranks fell under the "NCOs" until 2011.
