Dieter Leuthold

Dieter Leuthold (born March 18, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German scientist in the fields of corporate history, corporate communication and vocational training.

Live and act

After graduating from high school in West Berlin in 1961, Leuthold studied history, German and social studies at the University of Bonn and at the Free University of Berlin for the higher teaching post. In 1966 he passed his first science degree in Berlin. State examination and went as a student trainee in the first year to the Hermann-Lietz-Schule Schloss Bieberstein and in the second year to the cathedral grammar school in Fulda . After passing the 2nd state examination in 1968, he became a study assessor at Schloss Bieberstein and after two years switched to teaching at the Hans Carossa Oberschule in Berlin-Spandau . In 1971 he followed his appointment as a teacher at the technical college in Bremen and responsible for the areas of politics and social studies. In 1973 he was appointed lecturer at the University of Economics in Bremen, and in 1978 he became a professor. From 1977 to 1991 and again from 2002 to 2006 he was deputy rector of the University of Economics and, since 1982, deputy dean of the economics department of the newly founded University of Bremen .

From 1987 to 2001 he was the founder and coordinator of the German-Dutch-Flemish University Conference (DNFHK) and has been chairman of the Working Group for Management and Economic Research (AMW) at the University of Bremen since 1993. He moderates the "Challenge" workshops of the AMW - so far 47 - and has been honoring personalities in Bremen's economy with the AMW Award since 2003 .

Since 2000 he has headed the Institute for Company History (IFUG), which he founded.
