Dieter Lintz

Dieter Lintz (born March 9, 1959 in Konz ; † August 9, 2014 at Temmels ) was a German journalist and managing editor at Trierischer Volksfreund .

Life

Lintz attended the Hindenburg high school in Trier. He then studied law at the University of Trier . There he had already been active in the school newspapers and student papers. He began his professional career after completing his studies at the then new broadcasting station "Linkshreinischer Rundfunk" (LR) in Mainz . Two years later he switched to the RPR broadcaster in Ludwigshafen am Rhein . In 1991 he took over the position of RPR studio manager in Trier.

From 1998 until his death in 2014 Lintz worked as a local manager at Trierischer Volksfreund . From 2003 he was also the chief editor and thus a member of the chief editor. There he was considered one of the most capable and respected active journalists in terms of reporting and writing style. At Trierischer Volksfreund he mainly worked as a cultural journalist and critic. Lintz was also a sponsor of the Trier Internet newspaper 16vor . At the same time, Lintz also acted as a moderator at many Trier events and was a committed member of the Trier Carnival .

Lintz was a member of the Richard Wagner Association Trier-Luxemburg. From his column Mensch , which has been published since 2004 , he created the book Mensch , published in October 2012 . He also got involved in the charity campaign “My help counts”. Lintz was a supporter of inclusion . He was often a guest on local and regional television and radio stations, often on OK54 .

In 2013, Lintz received the Weissebach Prize from the Trier Prince Guild.

Lintz was married and the father of two daughters.

On August 9, 2014, Lintz died in a car accident near Temmels on the way to Trier.
