Dieter Schiller (soccer player)

Dieter Schiller (born October 20, 1950 in Bremen ) is a former German soccer player . He played 88 games in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Life

As a teenager, Schiller played at Blumenthaler SV , then at Police SV Bremen (1971/72) and Arminia Hannover (1972 to 1974) in the regional league. In 1974 he moved to FC St. Pauli and thus to the newly founded 2nd Bundesliga . Schiller did not become a full professional, he worked at the employment office. In the 1976/77 game year he was promoted to the Bundesliga with the Hamburg team as a second division champion, with Schiller playing 22 games. He did not go into the first division for professional reasons.

Schiller was a player and player-coach for SC Victoria Hamburg for six years . His coaching time at the club ended in 1986. He later worked for a year as a coach at HEBC , and in the 1994/95 season he was Manfred Mannebach's assistant coach at Meiendorfer SV . He exercised these activities in the top Hamburg league as well as the coaching position at SV Blankenese for three years at the end of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s . The same applied to Schiller's subsequent coaching activity at Glashütter SV (2000 to 2002). From 2010 to 2015 he was assistant coach under Hans-Jürgen Bargfrede at the U17 Bundesliga team of FC St. Pauli and later also a member of the U17 team under coach Timo Schultz . From 1990 Schiller was a player and later coach of the FC St. Pauli-Altliga.
