In a class of its own is a German comedy film by Christine Hartmann from 2019 . The television film was broadcast for the first time on November 13, 2019 as part of the ARD theme week 2019 "Future Education" in the program Das Erste .
action
The separated family man Fabian Sorge has been a teacher at his son's school for several years and is about to become civil servant. But his former schoolmate Ronald Pumm reports to the school office that Sorge's high school diploma is forged, which can be clearly seen on the false city coat of arms. The school principal recites Sorge in her office and confronts Sorge with his certificate forgery and gives him notice without notice. However, because she really appreciated her previous colleague Sorge as a teacher, she asked him to do his Abitur within a year. Care is reluctant to return to the role of the student. But his late Abitur does not go as planned, because the college where he is catching up with his Abitur is being closed by a real estate developer. He finds out that the property developer's daughter was part of his new class. When he confronts her about it, she protests that she knew nothing about it. The class meets after the closure and forms a study group.

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm pointed their thumbs to the side and gave two points for humor and one of three possible points for suspense. They wrote: “The detainee posse has a lot of heart and great actors, but little depth of field. Something for the feelgood slot 'Finally Friday on the First' ”. As an overall conclusion, they summed up: “Nice, but not in a class of its own”.
