Dieter Senft (born April 30, 1962 in Mannheim ) is a German cultural manager and opera director.

Training and first professional activities

Dieter Senft studied musicology , art history and German at the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg , with Ludwig Finscher , Dieter Borchmeyer and Herbert Schneider , among others .

After completing his studies, he initially worked as a cultural journalist in the Mannheim-Heidelberg area with a focus on theater and concert criticism. Furthermore, under Senft's Gießen opera direction, the world premiere of the new version for chamber orchestra of Alban Berg's opera Lulu by Eberhard Kloke (2012) and the German premiere of Peter Maxwell Davies were provisionally last opera fellow students!
