Frederic Dieter Stein (* 1955 in Duisburg ) is a German artist, illustrator and comic strip artist .
Life
Stein learned the professions lithographer and photographer , completed his Abitur at the evening high school in Wiesbaden and has been working as a freelance artist, illustrator and comic artist since 1978.

From 1980 to 1981 Dieter Stein wrote and drew stories for Fix & Foxi and other comic publications. Between 1981 and 1988 he made regular contributions as a draftsman for the German MAD magazine under the editor-in-chief Herbert Feuerstein . He drew German TV and film parodies such as Fadort (Tatort), Blindenstrasse (Lindenstrasse), Derrick and others. v. a. m. In addition, Dieter Stein designed the MAD game Spy & Spy together with Alex Randolph and Herbert Feuerstein .
In the following years he worked for various magazines such as Bike-Magazin , Bunte , Focus and drew comics, caricatures, etc. a.
In 1999 Stein designed the “Raab der Woche” for the TV total program with Stefan Raab on ProSieben , which was awarded at the start of the program for the respective highlight of a TV appearance and served as a studio decoration until the program was discontinued in 2015.
Stein taught at the Hohenaschau Summer Academy for several consecutive years . As a freelance painter , he portrayed the head of the Wittelsbach family , Franz Duke of Bavaria, among others .
