Dieter Weidemann

Dieter Weidemann (born December 17, 1938 in Recklinghausen ; † September 23, 2019 ) was a German manager and association official.

Life

Weidemann studied mechanical engineering at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) in Aachen . In 1959 he became a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Franconia Aachen in the CV . After completing his studies in 1963, he worked in sales and technology in various machine tool manufacturing companies . 1976 was made reputation as a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Hannover . 1981 to 1984 Weidemann became a board member of Gildemeister AG in Bielefeld , then chairman of the board of Pittler AG in Langen, Hesse . From 1994 to 1997 he was a member of the supervisory board of Pittler AG. Since 2010 he was again on the supervisory board of PITTLER AG iL

Dieter Weidemann was President of the Association of Hessian Entrepreneurs 'Associations (VhU) from 1992 to 2014 and a long-standing member of the executive committee of the Federal Association of German Employers' Associations (BDA). From 1984 to 1992 chairman of the Working Group Partnership in Business (AGP). In 1993, Weidemann became CEO of Hessenmetall , the association of Hessian metal and electrical companies, and Vice President of Gesamtmetall . In addition, Weidemann had been a member and deputy chairman of the Broadcasting Council of the Hessian Broadcasting Corporation since 1999 . He was a member of the advisory board of the Deutsche Bundesbank .

Weidemann was one of the initiators of the Hessian Entrepreneur Day , the Hessen Champions corporate competition , the Schule @ Zukunft media initiative and the Potential FrankfurtRheinMain - Talent inside initiative . On his initiative, the book Future Hessen, Future Germany - Opportunities for the Demographic Challenge was published by the VhU . In his function as VhU President, Dieter Weidemann was the patron of the Initiative Industrieplatz Hessen (IPH).
