Diethard Wend

Diethard Wend (* 10. December 1932 in Leipzig ) was a German journalist and official of the GDR - Block Party NDPD . From 1982 to 1990 he was editor-in-chief of the NDPD central organ National-Zeitung .

Life

Wend, son of an employee, attended elementary and high school with a high school diploma. In 1950 he joined the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD) and became a volunteer at the Leipzig edition of the “National-Zeitung”. From 1952 to 1956 he was a volunteer with the Saxon Latest News . In 1954 he became a member of the Association of Journalists of the GDR (VDJ). In 1956 he became editor of the National newspaper. He completed a correspondence course in journalism at KMU Leipzig from 1961 to 1966 with a degree in journalism. In 1972 he became deputy editor-in-chief and on June 11, 1982 editor-in-chief of the National-Zeitung (successor to Horst Kreter ). At the 12th NDPD party congress in April 1982 he was elected a member of the Main Committee (HA) and at the 10th session of the Main Committee on December 5, 1985 he was elected to the Secretariat of the HA. On June 11, 1982 he was on the XI. Congress of the VDJ as a member of the central board of the VDJ and in 1987 its presidium.
