Dietrich Diederichs-Gottschalk

Dietrich Diederichs-Gottschalk (born July 4, 1950 ) is a German Protestant - Lutheran theologian and art historian . Because of its long name, it is mostly called "Di-Di-Go".

Life

Dietrich Diederichs-Gottschalk, son of the restorer and painter Carl Diederichs, grew up in a small village in the Harz Mountains . After attending grammar school , he studied theology and art history in Göttingen . In 1978 he was ordained pastor in Westerholt in the Harlingerland parish in East Frisia . From 1982 to 1985 he was a school pastor in Norden . He then held half a position as a school pastor in Loxstedt and half a pastor's position in Nesse (Loxstedt) until 1991 . After two years in Nordholz, he was pastor of the Unterweser parish in Sandstedt for the last 20 years until he retired (2012) .

Diederichs-Gottschalk was the first Protestant pastor in northern Germany to baptize young people and adults in one stream. In 2000 he carried out the first baptism of the Weser, which has taken place every year since then on St. John's Day, the patron saint of the church in Sandstedt. In 2004 he was at the Theological Faculty in Göttingen to Dr. theol. PhD . He published several art and church history writings. He is married to the teacher and author Felicitas Gottschalk . The couple live in Padingbüttel and have one son.
