Padingbüttel ( Low German Padingbüddel ) is a village in the municipality of Wurster North Sea Coast in the Lower Saxony district of Cuxhaven .

The place is in the land of Wursten near the North Sea . The actual town center is about three kilometers from the North Sea. However, parts of the scattered marsh village are closer to her.

history
The first Saxon sausages were raised around the 1st to 5th centuries. During the migration of peoples , the Saxons left the country of Wursten and Frisians settled in the old residential areas.
The place was first mentioned in a document on March 5, 1365. For the place name ending see -büttel .
Incorporations
As part of the regional reform in Lower Saxony , which took place on March 1, 1974, the villages of Padingbüttel, Cappel , Midlum , Misselwarden , Dorum , Mulsum and Wremen merged to form the municipality of Land Wursten .
On January 1, 2015, the joint municipality of Land Wursten and the municipality of Nordholz formed the new municipality of Wurster North Sea Coast in the district of Cuxhaven.

The mayor of Padingbüttel is Eide Lübs ( CDU ). His deputy is Harm-Henrik Siebs ( SPD ). The term of office runs from 2016 to 2021.

The design of the municipal coat of arms of Padingbüttel comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Albert de Badrihaye , who designed around 80 coats of arms in the district of Cuxhaven.

Buildings
- The St. Matthew Church was built as a fortified church in the 13th century . It has a pulpit from 1652 and a winged altar from around 1480. In the 15th century, the church was expanded to include the west tower. The foundation is based on boulders on which a sandstone plinth rests, while the actual church building consists of brick.

Economy and Infrastructure
Today the place is mainly a place of residence with some agricultural and handicraft businesses. Due to the location on the Weserradweg and the proximity to the North Sea coast as well as the proximity to the coastal towns of Wremen and Dorum-Neufeld, holiday homes are also used for tourism. Since 1993 there has also been a wind park at the site that generates 4.8 megawatts of power with ten rotors.
