history
The name is a change from the earlier "Kranichsburg".
The Hollburg, which belonged to the nobles "von Diepholz", was also located near Kransburg on the Geest. In 1824 the place consisted of three, later four farms. Kransburg received electricity in 1930. In 1939 the Wehrmacht set up a dummy airfield near Kransburg east of Lake Kransburger See, which was intended to divert attackers from the Nordholz airfield. The Allies then threw bombs on this bogus airfield several times during the Second World War.
Until December 31, 2014, Kransburg was part of the Midlum municipality in the joint municipality of Land Wursten.
On January 1, 2015, the joint municipality of Land Wursten and the municipality of Nordholz formed the new municipality of Wurster North Sea Coast in the district of Cuxhaven.
religion
Kransburg is evangelical-Lutheran and belongs to the parish Midlum. It used to belong to the Neuenwalde church area. The Twelve Apostles Church in Altenwalde is responsible for the Catholics and has belonged to the St. Marien parish in Cuxhaven since 2008.
