Dietrich Monstadt (born September 15, 1957 in Bochum ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2009 . a. in the Committee on Health .

Career

Dietrich Monstadt was born in Bochum. After graduating from high school , he did his military service. He then studied law and business administration at the Ruhr University in Bochum . He passed the first state examination in law at the Hamm Higher Regional Court and the second state examination in Düsseldorf. During his legal clerkship he worked in a law firm in Bochum , where he became an attorney after his legal clerkship. From 1991 he founded the office of the firm in Schwerin .

Political career

In 1996 Monstadt joined the CDU .

In 2009 he won in the general election the direct mandate in the Bundestag constituency Schwerin - Ludwigslust and was a member of the German Bundestag . In the Bundestag election 2013 and Bundestag election 2017 he was able to successfully defend his direct mandate in the Bundestag constituency Schwerin - Ludwigslust-Parchim I - Northwest Mecklenburg I.

Since his first election to the German Bundestag, he has been a full member of the Committee on Health and, since the beginning of 2014, of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection . He has also been a deputy member of the Committee on Food and Agriculture since the 19th German Bundestag .

For the working group on health of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group he is the rapporteur for obesity and diabetes, medical devices and dentists.

In addition to his membership in the state board of the CDU Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , Monstadt has also been the state chairman of the medium-sized and business association of the CDU / CSU Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since 2009 .
