Dietrich von Gadenstedt (* 1511 ; † January 13, 1586 in Wernigerode ) was the Count of Stolberg city ​​governor of Wernigerode.

Life

He was the son of Burghard von Gadenstedt and Magareta born. from old people . In 1534 he entered the service of Count Wolfgang zu Stolberg , who was then provost of the cathedral in Halberstadt , after his death he remained in the service of the Counts of Stolberg for a total of 49 years, and in 1573 he abdicated due to illness. Already in old age he had a representative house built for himself and his family in the Oberpfarrkirchhof in 1582 , which still exists today and bears the name Gadenstedtsches Haus .

He was married to Otilia von Bülzingsleben (* 1515/16; † November 6, 1594 in Wernigerode) since 1548 . From this marriage the son Heinrich Albrecht von Gadenstedt (* 1552 in Wernigerode; † June 18, 1613 in Gadenstedt) emerged. His daughter Hedwig von Gadenstedt (born August 3, 1590 in Wernigerode; † January 24, 1649 in Halberstadt), however, married Arndt von Spiegel zu Peckelsheim in 1615 , who in 1618 acquired Seggerde Castle . Both were buried in Halberstadt Cathedral.

Dietrich von Gadenstedt died at the age of 75 and was buried in the upper parish church. His descendants gave him 1590 today in St. Sylvestrikirche (Wernigerode) existing Epitaph build.
