Dimiter Inkiow

Dimiter Inkiow ( Bulgarian Димитър Янакиев Инкьов , German transcription: Dimitar Janakiew Inkiow ; born October 10, 1932 in Chaskowo ; † September 24, 2006 in Munich ) was a Bulgarian-German children's book author .

Inkiow first completed a degree as a mining engineer, later followed by studies at the Academy for Dramatic Arts and Theater Studies in Sofia , he graduated with a degree as a director . He wrote numerous plays and came into conflict with the Bulgarian government because of a comedy and had to leave the country in 1965. He lived as a political refugee in Germany (Munich) and until 1991 wrote commentaries and satires for Radio Free Europe ( Radio Free Europe ) in Munich. He has published over 100 children's books that have been translated into 25 languages ​​worldwide. Among them were series like Me and my sister Klara , from 2001 he told Greek sagas and the great epic of the Iliad for children. He died on September 24, 2006 in Munich.
